The flag of the Republika Srpska is based on the red-blue-white Serbian tricolour.
While the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina declared the coat of arms of Republika Srpska unconstitutional, claiming that it did not represent the non-serb ethnicities living in the republic, the flag of Republika Srpska was allowed to remain unchanged. Though the combination of the colors relates to the Serbian tricolor, the colors themselves do not represent the Serbian people but are considered to be pan-slavic colors.
Republika Srpska is part of the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which has its own flag.
