Giffordius is a gastropod genus, consisting of terrestrial snails in the family Polygyridae. The two known species, found on New Providence, Bahamas, were named after the early conservationist and politician, Gifford Pinchot and his wife, Cornelia, who discovered them. 2 These snails are unusual among polygyrids in being ovoviviparous rather than oviparous. 3 The genus Giffordius contains the following species:
