Mueller-Hinton agar is an microbiological growth medium that is commonly used for antibiotic susceptibility testing. It is also used to isolate and maintain Neisseria and Moraxella species.
It typically contains (w/v)1:

- 30.0% beef infusion
- 1.75% casein hydrolysate
- 0.15% starch
- 1.7% agar
- pH adjusted to neutral at 25 C.
Five percent sheep blood may also be added when susceptibility testing is done on Streptococcus species.
