Prokuplje ( Serbian Прокупље) is a town and municipality located in Serbia at 43.24° North, 21.59° East. In 2002 the town had a total population of 27,673, while population of municipality was 48,501. It is the administrative center of the Toplica District of Serbia.
Geography
Municipality of Prokuplje is located between municipalities of Blace, Kuršumlija, Bojnik, Žitorađa, Merošina, Aleksinac, and Kruševac.
Archaeological findings

On October 9th, 2008, Serbian archaeologists found a copper axe believed to be 500-800 years older than the actual beginning of the Copper Age, suggesting that the human use of metal is older than believed345.
